Marissa and Doug (married) Colorado Springs, CO

I’m going to be totally and completely honest. Marissa and Doug are one of the kindest, grace-filled couples I have been blessed with over these past 10 years. It all began last February when I called Marissa crying because I found out I was pregnant (with my last and final child) and wouldn’t be able to photograph her wedding. I told her I had my business partner Samantha who would do an amazing job, or I would let her go and she could find another photographer. I was crossing my fingers she would stay with us because I really mean it when I say they are an wonderful couple. I wouldn’t be posting this if she went elsewhere. She stayed and Samantha and Laura did a stunning job on her photos. Big props go to Marissa and Doug for all their planning and coordinating of the details. From the dress to the tiniest details of what was hanging from the chandeliers during the reception, it all tied together. Those are the best weddings to photograph and I loved editing every minute of them. Samantha and Laura took all the photos, I edited them and sent them off and I hope […]

Cake!

This time of year is always crazy for me between photographing weddings and editing weddings and balancing some family time in there too, so when Linda from Iced and Dazzle came by yesterday to bring me cake samples as I was working away, it totally made my day! She gave me a sample tasting box, which is what a couple would get if they are expecting around 100 guests, so they can try a variety of flavors before they picked what they wanted for their wedding cake. They are all buttercream based and… fanstastic. My husband, who is not a “cake person”, came home at lunch and ate his fair share too, so that was the real test. Thank you, Linda for sharing these with us! My favorite combination was the Deep Dark Chocolate Cake with the Very Vanilla Buttercream. Yum. Although it goes without saying, I must add that Linda is a fantastic person to work with and I highly recomend her! If you need a wedding cake, or othersiwsise, please give her a call.

Nicole + Joshua (wedding – Black Forest, Colorado)

We adore Nicole and Joshua. We had a chance to get to know them months ago to do their engagement photo session and now here’s their beautiful wedding. We love a wedding with special thoughts to the “details” and Nicole and Josh didn’t leave out anything. Not only that, it was incredibly personal to who they are as a couple. They had a candy bar, little lego men topping their cake, and as a surprise, their friends welcomed them into their reception with lightsabers. What a celebration! Our gift to Nicole was a custom hanger with her new last name. Perfect to hang her incredible dress on. Seeing one another for the first time. Nicole, you’re stunning! Check out the cake topper! Place cards and the little lego men are so, so creative (and adorable… yes, I called Lego men adorable).   Wedding Venue: The Pinery Photographer: Samantha Kelly – Megan Hardre Photography Associate Photographers: Callie and Laura Cake: Creative Wedding Cakes of Colorado Springs – Carol Brides Makeup: Dawn Schiff Florist: The Pinery Nicole and Josh, thank you so very much for asking us to photograph your wedding and share your special day with you! Carol and James (wedding – Cokedale, Colorado)

You might remember Carol and James from a few months back when we did their engagement photos. I’m so excited to share their wedding with you that took place a few weeks ago in Cokedale, Colorado. Located near the New Mexico boarder, it’s a small town with incredibly wonderful people! Carol and James were married in an old mercantile with many DIY details and old historic items around the mercantile. Enjoy! Carol, you’re stunning! Carol arriving to the mercantile by horse and carriage.   Carol and James, it was great to share your wedding day with you. Thank you for having us photograph it. We wish you many, many years of happiness!   Cheers,   Megan, Samantha and Callie ** P.S. We ALWAYS wear full black suits to our weddings (we blend in better that way) — however, it was close to 110 degrees in the building that day, so you’re seeing our after wedding garb; in case you were wondering. 🙂
