I love how small Colorado Springs is — it’s a fairly large city, but really I love that somehow each person I meet is connected to someone else I know, or so it seems anyway. This was the case for Sarah and Clint. I had met Sarah previously through a friend and when she called me to ask about wedding photography, we didn’t put two and two together right away. It wasn’t until she told me she was hiring Smash Events (Ashlee is a dear friend of mine) and she’s known another close friend of mine, Julie for most of her life, finally we realized we had once met before and we only lived a few houses away from one another. Shows how often I get away from work to meet my neighbors, eh?
That being said, it made photographing her wedding super special. Now, the even better part of how sheย knows Clint. There’s more to their story, but they went to high school together and didn’t date until meeting up again many years later. Now, they are married. ๐ Speaking of wedding — it was a beautiful day out in Westcliffe, Colorado despite the heavy wind, which Sarah just took in stride and moved on with getting ready.
She made a beautiful bride!
Her mom was by her side the entire day helping out. It was great to see them working together months before on all the small and large details of the wedding and seeing it come together that day I’m sure, was rewarding!
I adore the idea of using old books as the centerpiece for the tables. Topped with flowers put together by Callie Webb, the room looked incredible.
Such a great first dance!
Thanks Sarah and Clint for your wonderful friendship and hospitality! Your wedding was beautiful and I was honored to photograph it. Wishing you happy ever after. ๐
Cheers,
Megan
