beyond the 4×6

I give a fully edited CD with the copyright for all my packages so I rarely get requests for reprints. However, recently I’ve been playing around with other options to offer you guys and I had fun with these photos on mats. The ones shown below are 11×14 in size on a black hard foam core and I LOVE how they turned out. I couldn’t post these before Christmas because they were gifts for our good friends Holly and Nick… and I couldn’t chance her seeing them on the blog. However… here they are. I put them on an easel but you could also frame these and they’d still look great. I like how they added a bit of variety from the typical “framed photo” when on the easel. They come in smaller sizes too and the photo below shows just how thick they are. Love it! Anyway, just thought I would share these with you! They are always available to order and fun to give as a gift or keep for yourself. 🙂 I hope you had a great Christmas. We sure missed having our families around this year, so it was quieter than normal, but wonderful nonetheless. Wishing […]

wrapping up a year

Now that wedding season is over for the year for me, I’ve been taking some time to focus on a few things within MHP including new wedding albums coming out at the beginning of the year (I think you’ll love them!) as well as an expansion project happening at MHP. I’m super excited for the New Year, all the awesome weddings coming up as well as the big announcement I’ll be making in the next week or so. AND, what’s a post without a photo? Here’s some of the awesome friends we’ve made in the last year since we’ve lived here. This was taken at our Christmas party a week or so ago. I hope you and yours have a blessed Christmas! 🙂 – – Megan

T + J + A + T

I love this family. They just welcomed baby Thomas into their family 4 weeks ago and I stopped in to see them this afternoon and snapped a few photos. He is so cute!! Not only that but they are a fantastic family. Julie was the very first friend I made when we moved here to Colorado Springs a year ago. She took me under her wing and introduced me to so many people. I am forever grateful because it’s hard to make new friends right away! My son and their daughter aren’t too far a part in age so its been fun to watch them grow and add to their family. What really makes me smile about this family is that they are so real and open. I treasure that. 🙂 I told you he was cute. 🙂 Then it was time to bring in big sister. 🙂 The whole family. 🙂 Love you guys! 🙂

Maeve Bridal Shoot

I spent the morning with the ladies from Maeve Bridal. They were working on a final fitting for a bride who is getting married this month and wanted some photos taken. Holly and Sara do an amazing job and the dress was beautiful. What makes them special is that they create custom bridal gowns/dresses from a “sketch, photo, or even just a “feeling” for your wedding day, and make the perfect gown for you from start to finish. Gowns are made to exact measurements, with particular attention given to any concerns about fit you may have.” If only I had known about them 5 years ago when I got married! 🙂 Here’s some from the shoot. 🙂 To see more of their custom work, check out their website.

Nick loves Holly

You might remember this couple from here. I took Nick and Holly out for a life session a few weeks back. A life session is basically like an engagement photo shoot, but for those folks who are already married! They are our really good friends here in Colorado Springs and I am so blessed that they trust me time and time again to take their photos. 🙂 I’ll start with their favorite one first. 🙂 My favorite below. 🙂

Brian + Tiffany = Engaged!!

I met Brian and Tiffany once before very quickly but this time around I really got to spend some time getting to know them better at Garden of the Gods. They are planning on getting married next August. Here’s some of my favorites from the day. Favorite. 🙂 They are so cute together and their smiles are so genuine. 🙂 I love it. Thanks guys for trekking through all different types of terrain for the shoot and in heels nonetheless! I really enjoyed spending the afternoon with you both! Enjoy the wedding planning!

Rasika + Rakesh

Norman, Oklahoma — I ended up in Norman, Oklahoma over Thanksgiving visiting my in-laws and had the opportunity to meet an amazing couple. My sister in-law is very good friends with Rasika and is traveling to India this month to be in her wedding. They hadn’t had any engagement photos taken so she asked me if I minded taking them. Since I had all my equipment with me, why not? And I’m so glad I did!!! This couple is so classy, kind and so in love. I wish I could have spent more time with them to hear more of their story. Alas, here were some of my favorites. 🙂 They met on the University of Oklahoma campus so I thought it was fitting to start around there. Not shooting there before I was hoping for the best. I think they turned out okay. 🙂 He brought her flowers. Told you they were a cute couple. 🙂 Loved the blue wall and the texture. 🙂 Rasika and Rakesh, thank you for a wonderful afternoon. I enjoyed meeting you both and I wish you an amazing future together. Safe travels!

Steven + Olivia = Married

I love this couple and spending their big day with them was really fun. I know I say that at almost every blog post, but I really mean it. I really have the best clients and it’s even better when I get to know them throughout the months before their wedding. They got married at the chapel on Ft. Carson and it was beautiful; mostly because the families that Steven and Olivia were a part of were wonderful as are they. Here are a few of my favorites from their day. I adore this couch and the flowers. I LOVE her dress. A little fun with the cake. Love it. 🙂 Father – Daughter dance. They have some really great friends and family. Steve and Olivia— I wish you both the very best. Thank you for trusting me for your big day. I really enjoyed getting to know you both and your families. Keep in touch! 🙂
