Holly + Ken (and kids) – Colorado Springs, Colorado

I’ve been photographing this sweet family for over a decade. It’s a joy to take their photos once again. They even had a huge snowball fight at the end of it. I love it when families have FUN taking photos. That’s how it should be. Ken + Holly (and their 6 kids) Black Forest, Colorado

Cicely + John Michael (wedding) – Colorado Springs, Colorado

I had the joy and privilege to photograph the wedding of my dear friends’ daughter earlier in August. The wedding was held on their private property in Black Forest, Colorado where memories upon memories had already been made over the years and friends in abundance were in attendance, similar to other events there in the past. It was a wedding where seemingly everyone had a part, whether it was making the cake, helping decorate, remodel the barn, assist on helping the day of the wedding, decorate signs, run errands for last minute items… just the way it should be, because community means so much to this couple. Then it was time to party and even the rain coming down at the start of the dancing didn’t slow anyone down. What a day! Congratulations, Cicely and John Michael. It was an honor to be there to photograph your wedding day.

For Japan With Love

There are certain events that happen and they seem so unbelievable. Events so unfathomable for those of us on the other side of the TV screen. My husband and I sat on our couch last night watching home videos taken of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan while it was happening by those who experienced it first hand; there were hundreds of videos. My heart hurts for the people of Japan and I can’t even imagine what they are going through. So many people afraid, hurting, so many people missing. Their world was turned upside down in just minutes and it’s long from over for them. There are some wonderful ladies at Utterly Engaged and Ever Ours who put together For Japan With Love. It’s a way for us to donate to Japan and all the money goes to ShelterBox. Each box is tailored to a disaster but typically contains a disaster relief tent for an extended family, blankets, water storage and purification equipment, cooking utensils, a stove, a basic tool kit, a children’s activity pack and other vital items. Each box costs $1000 and they are trying to raise enough money to buy 5 boxes. ShelterBox is already on […]

just a reminder…

Just a reminder… I still have a few spots open for photo shoots during the week of the 23rd-28th! I’ve had a few families sign up; thank you for your support! As posted below, all my proceeds for the week will go to help this family build a playground in memory of their daughter. Please help me help them! And really, above all else, please keep their family in prayer.

partner with me to help them

The last week or so I have been thinking of this family and on Sunday their little girl when home to be with the Lord. My heart aches because my son is just a little older than Cora… and I just can’t imagine. Her parents want to build a playground in memory of her and I want to partner with you to help them get it done! The last week in February my schedule is wide open and I want to fill it with shoots. For $125 I will do your photo shoot (engagements, family, babies, newborn, maternity… whatever!) and all the proceeds will go directly to this family. For you, that will include a full set of 4×6 prints, a CD with all the edited photos as well as the copyright to the photos. If you’ve been wanting to do a shoot, but haven’t… now is the time. It goes to something good. 🙂 Send me an email megan@meganhardrephotography.com (the sooner, the better) if you want to set up a time the last week in February to get ’em done. 🙂
