Brandon + Callie (family photos) – Colorado Springs, Colorado

Callie + Brandon (and their girls) Downtown Colorado Springs, Colorado Family Photos It’s an honor to photograph other families that own a small business here in town. There’s something special about having someone that truly understands the crazy roller coaster of it all. This family owns Switchback Coffee Roasters and it’s the best coffee shop in town. A perfect patio for sunny days and the inside is cozy for cold days (or any day, really). I’ve spent many hours editing photos in their shop; lots of natural lighting and friendly employees. If you haven’t been there, check it out! We spent one evening the last week in August taking these photos. On a night when the sun is setting a little earlier, and there’s a crisp feel to the air once the sun goes behind Pikes Peak. This family and our family shares a huge love for our city. Both of our families have local brick and mortar storefront businesses that rely on the people of the city; our kids all go to school here and we plan to raise our families here. It’s a beautiful place and we all agree — it’s the people that make it what it […]

Bri’anna & Steven (married) – Denver, Colorado

Photographers: Samantha and Laura – Megan Hardre Photography Venue: Villa Parker Flowers: Melissa Schecter Wedding Coordination: Taylor with Marilee Grace Planning Cakes: The Bundt Shoppe We (Samantha and Laura) had the privilege of photographing a very special day for a great couple. Bri’anna and Steven have an effervescence that attracts a fun group of friends and comes from being raised by and with some pretty awesome family members. That alone makes for a spectacular wedding, but then throw in a beautiful dress, dapper suit, sparkly bouquets, delicious food, and a clear Colorado evening in a venue as unique as Villa parker…it was a perfect night. Bri’anna wanted her wedding to be one that others brides saw and posted on Pinterest we think with all the fresh fun details she included she has achieved her goal what do you think? Bri’anna’s something blue she sewed herself into the inside of her gown. The Brides lovely bouquet detailed with her Grandmother’s earrings {flowers by Melissa Schecter} Our first time photographing a wedding at Villa Parker did not disappoint and neither did our bride and groom — look at these two! Pinterest worthy! Makes for some great photos during a recessional. A sweet moment captured […]

Holly (+baby Liam) – maternity – Denver, Colorado

My dear, sweet best friend is having her 3rd boy this December and I’m so excited to share her maternity photos with you. We also did a family photo shoot at the same time, but I’ll share those later. We drove up to Denver and tried out a new location, had incredible lighting and she rocked the photo shoot, as always. I’m not supposed to tell, but she’s turning 32 in 3 months and I think she’s stunning! So excited for you my friend. You already make such a great mom to your other two boys and Liam is blessed to join in on all the fun! And we had to get a few of her and her hubby. And the brothers.

Esther and Jeff (wedding – Denver, Colorado)

Since meeting Esther and Jeff a year or so ago, there are a few things I’ve really grown to admire about them. First off is their communication with one another — the love and mutual respect they show for one another when they are together. Secondly, and more importantly in my opinion, is their faith. I loved that their ceremony was very personal, including their officiant who had known them both since they were 16 — and knew their faith in God. Furthermore, they incorporated their love for God throughout their wedding with multiple prayers with their mentors and friends. When I left them that evening, I knew they were starting out their marriage on the right foot by having God at the center of it and nothing makes me happier than to see that with the couples I photograph. They were married at Hudson Gardens and Event Center in Denver and during their ceremony, we had dark, ominous clouds looming overhead only to clear up and provide incredible lighting for their photos after the ceremony.Yay! Praying with the bridal party moments before the ceremony. Giving his daughter away. It’s tough to be a flower girl. 😉 And they’re married! […]

Amy and Sam (engagements – Denver, CO)

We’re shooting weddings this summer and fall for some incredibly fun couples and Amy and Sam are no exception. They are getting married in Denver this October and wanted to do their engagement shoot around downtown Denver. We had to cancel the first time due to crazy lightening storms so we opted for a morning/afternoon shoot this time around to miss the afternoon storms. It worked well, except it was HOT! Amy and Sam were such troopers and Samantha and I had such a blast taking their photos. At one point, Samantha, Amy and Sam all jumped in the fountain to cool off and we continued the shoot there. Kudos to Samantha for taking such awesome photos — she had her first baby 3 weeks prior to this shoot and did great. I was 22 weeks pregnant at the time, so I imagine we looked a little silly but I think the result turned out wonderfully. We work well under pressure and crazy circumstances. 😉 Looking forward to seeing you both again in October! Megan and Samantha

Everett Patrick – Newborn

I was lucky enough to hang out with this little cutie pie in Denver last weekend. I think he was 7 days old when we did these photos and he slept through the entire shoot! He is such a good baby! I have a son who is 2 years old and I guess I’m fairly sheltered because I hadn’t had the chance to really hold and cuddle with a newborn since my son was that small. I picked little Everett up and the tears (mine, not his) just started flowing!! What a precious miracle these little ones are. Not sure if there’s anything better than little baby feet. I did this one in color and black & white since I couldn’t decide which one I liked better. Both! 😉 Thanks Everett for letting me love on you — you rock little buddy!
